Thanks giving Day

Thanksgiving day is a common celebration in other countries like the United States, Canada and similar name festival holidays in Germany and Japan. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. It is a celebration in honour of The Pilgrims who came first to America in the year 1602. They had difficulties in their first winter and almost all the Pilgrims died. However, the Indians helped them. Thanksgiving was first celebrated when the Pilgrims have their good harvest and they invited the Indians to thank them.

Americans celebrate this holiday with the big dinners and family reunions. A traditional Thanksgiving Day meal is a turkey with special dressing and a famous apple or pumpkin pie with walnuts and cinnamon. They also make parades in some cities in America. The biggest parade can be seen in New York. There are large floats, balloons, clowns and bands. However, the typical Thanksgiving Day activity is usually watching TV.
